Inspired by wet and atmospheric autumn mornings, ‘Windflower’ captures the essence of an autumnal garden at its peak. When the sun-bleached grasses still sway in the wind, the trees, windswept and browned from a long summer still provide shade, and one of the last flowers to bloom, Anemone japonica or ‘windflower’ brings the season to an elegant close with crisp white petals sparkling in a sea of gold, rust, lavender, and brown.

An ode to the intoxicating opium poppy, Papaver somniferum. A plant that beguiles and bewitches, a heady mixture of light and dark, wiry, and delicate. Tissue paper flowers dance in the evening breeze, and fat seed pods rattle when they are disturbed. A plant - and painting- that is hard to forget.
A contemporary Arcadian landscape. A beautiful study of a pastoral scene at the Stroud Preserve in Pennsylvania. Light bounces across the canvas as the height of summer exuberance is celebrated in a vibrant scene.
